Stars in Your Eyes–a Giveaway!

nate than ever Tim Federle has appeared on the Broadway stage in a catfish costume for “The Little Mermaid”.  He’s danced at Radio City Music Hall, sung at the Met, and performed at Super Bowl halftimes. Now, he’s pulled off the most important feat of all: he’s written a middle grade novel!

From IndieBound:

Nate Foster has big dreams. His whole life, he’s wanted to star in a Broadway show. (Heck, he’d settle for seeing a Broadway show.) But how is Nate supposed to make his dreams come true when he’s stuck in Jankburg, Pennsylvania, where no one (except his best pal Libby) appreciates a good show tune? With Libby’s help, Nate plans a daring overnight escape to New York. There’s an open casting call for E.T.: The Musical, and Nate knows this could be the difference between small-town blues and big-time stardom.

Tim Federle writes a warm and witty debut that’s full of broken curfews, second chances, and the adventure of growing up—because sometimes you have to get four hundred miles from your backyard to finally feel at home.

Tim is giving away a signed ARC of “Nate” to a MUF reader. Please leave a comment below to be eligible and, well, break a leg!

  1. I’d love to read this, how fun it sounds! Of course, my son would grab it out my hands and have to read it first, then share it with his siblings, then maybe I’d get to read it. 🙂

  2. I’m halfway through this book right now and cackling – literally cackling – out loud every other page. It’s SO funny, and so heartwarming and sweet!

  3. Congratulations Tim. I wish you much continued success. Great post Tricia. I know a drama teacher for an elementary school I’d love to give this to, after I read it of course.

  4. Oooh, love the concept of this story, it sounds awesome! I’d love to win a copy – all the best! 🙂

  5. I’m sure Tim got some fuel for the plotting of this great sounding title from his work on Broadway (2009-10) as a member of the choreographer team for the musical Billy Elliot. Plenty of kids in that show to get the brain cells rolling on a storyline. Good luck Tim. I read the first few pages on Amazon and got hooked.

  6. I would love to win! My son would love this book!

  7. Love the premise!

  8. I just picked up my hold copy from the library this afternoon and there has already been a showdown with my twin 10-year olds regarding who gets it first (good thing Mommy has a later bedtime, so I’ll win eventually!). We’d love our own copy!

  9. * What a wonderful story! Bravo! I look forward to reading it, whether I win or not!

  10. What fun! As a former drama major and teacher, current singer, and lifelong lover of musical theater, I would LOVE to read this!
